Hardware and Software Requirements

• Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, or Windows XP
• Updated browser that supports 128-bit encryption ("Cipher Strength"), such as:
  • Internet Explorer 5.01 or later (note that some operating systems and versions, such as Windows NT 2000 with IE 5 and 6 for example, do not support 128-bit encryption)
  • Mozilla Firefox 1.0 or later
  • Netscape 7 or later
• A 233 megahertz (MHz) processor (such as an Intel Pentium II or Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) processor) or faster
• 64 megabytes (MB) of RAM or more
• Speakers and sound capability
• Payment with a valid credit card

Supported Players and Jukeboxes

"Secure" WMA downloads are supported by most leading players. Make sure your computer has a supported player installed before you start downloading. The player's company website will provide you with details about hardware and software requirements when you download and install a player.

Sorry - we do not offer the service to users on Mac since our protected Windows Media files are not compatible with most Mac version of Windows Media Player. Songs in secure WMA will not play on iPod or iTunes (including iTunes on PC).

Important Note: Different combinations and configurations of players, browsers, and operating systems behave very differently. You may need to research each application's settings before you are able to play your downloads. It helps to make sure that only one player on your PC is the default player for WMA files (start each player, look at Properties > Formats).

The required settings are already appropriately set for most users. However, if you run into difficulties and/or if errors are reported, please make sure that your Browser and Firewall settings are configured correctly in order to:

1. Accept cookies (e.g. set them to low low-mid security level)
2. Allow pop-ups from our store’s URL to work

Getting Started (Back to Top)

1. Search for the music you want
2. Sample it for free using the 30-second clips(look for the “Preview” or the green “play” buttons near each song name)
   1. If you are using Internet Explorer, clips will play inside the browser
   2. If you are using a different browser such as FireFox or Netscape, clicking on preview clips will launch your Window Media Player to play the clips; some software configurations may lead to an open re-direct browser window (empty/white) during this process, which you can simply close once the stream is playing
3. When you first attempt to buy a product, you will reach our Payment Page
4. Setup your account as instructed below
5. You will return to the store, and the download will now start; when prompted to “Run” or “Save” the file, choose “Save” and make sure you save the file into a folder you recognize and can later locate – such as My Music – or to your desktop

Once your account is saved with us, you can continue and browse for the music you want and click to purchase and download products without having to enter information again.

We will summarize your daily purchases and email you a receipt for your records.

Create A Music Store Account (Back to Top)
Creating a music store account allows you to instantly purchase and download your favorite music using our service, as well as purchase Gift Certificates and Allowances.

An Internet connection is required to use these services.

1. Click the Account button in the store
2. Create a user name (using a valid email address) and password (you can use one of the two to retrieve your username and password should you lose it)
3. Continue to enter your personal and payment information on the My Account page. You will be offered the opportunity to opt-in for certain features and services.
4. Read and agree to our Terms of Service.
5. Once all of your personal and payment information is filled in click the Save button. Your account will be created.
6. You will now be returned to the store to continue the shopping process.
7. You can review your options on the My Account page which will now be available to you from any store page. You can click on History to see past activity and access any available downloads in your account.

What Happens When I Return? (Back to Top)
If you selected “Remember Me” in your account page, then upon your return you will be able to resume the same easy shopping experience.

If you did not select “Remember Me”, or if you deleted cookies on your computer or changed your cookie settings, or if you visit the store from a different computer, than you will be required to log in with your username and password. Once logged in, you'll be able to resume the same easy shopping experience.

To change any of your personal information or account preferences, you can click on My Account in the store’s navigation bar. You must be logged in to be able to access your account. Use this function also to review your account history and access purchased products that you have not yet downloaded, or that you have additional rights to download and/or license again.

• Recipients do not need to be current customers of our store

• Gives parents the power to set a fixed monthly limit for their kids’ music purchases

• Gives teens a legal way to purchase and download music easily

Buy, redeem, download (Back to Top)

Purchasing and downloading a single track - This assumes you have set up your store Account with a valid credit card.

1. Browse thru our store’s categories and features or use the Search field to find artists, albums, or songs.
2. You can listen to 30-second clips of songs throughout the store at no cost.
3. When you've found tracks that you're ready to purchase and download, click the BUY button next to the track.
4. Verify that you want to buy this track by clicking CONFIRM.
5. The track download process will start.
   • A prompt will be opened by your browser asking you if to “Run” or “Save” the file; we recommend you choose to Save it.
   • Next, your browser will offer you the opportunity to designate which folder you want to save the file to (or, some browsers will default to your desktop); we recommend you save the file to your default My Music folder, or a different folder of choice which you can locate on your computer later.

1. Locate the album you'd like to purchase and then click the BUY ALBUM button.
2. Verify that you want to buy this album by clicking CONFIRM.
3. Our Download Manager will launch to help you manage the album download experience and monitor the download. The name of the application is bulkget.exe, it is a small server-side tool that is completely disposable after the album download process if complete. Here’s how to work with the Download Manager:

   Internet Explorer Users:

   1. The first prompt you will see is the following; you may choose to “Run” the Download Manager:
      
      
      
      
   2. Next, an IE security window will ask you again if to run the application. Click Run again.
      
      
      
      
   3. The Download Manager will now open.
      
      
      
      
   4. Last, the Download Manager will offer you a prompt that allows you to designate a specific folder or location on your computer to download your album to. As before, we recommend you choose your default “My Music” folder for this purpose. If the prompt already displays your chosen location, simply click No. The Download Manager will now initiate your album download.
      
      
      
      

Users of other Browsers:
If you are using a non-IE browser such as Firefox or Netscape, your experience may be slightly different. For example, you may not be able to Run the application, and instead have to Save it to your desktop or a designated folder. If this is the case, follow the following steps:

1. Make sure to designate its download location as your Desktop. The download of the small .exe component will just take a few seconds. You will then find an icon for the Download Manager on your desktop.
2. Double-click on the icon, and the process described above will initiate.
3. After the entire album has been properly downloaded, you can delete the little Download Manager file from your desktop.

1. In some store and/or sites we support, you will simply be invited to enter the coupon code only, while in other sites we may ask for some additional information on the redemption page.
   1. Go to the redemption page URL provided to you with your coupon code
   2. Please complete the required fields to redeem your songs
2. In larger stores and/or sites we support, you will be invited to create an account during the coupon redemption process:
   1. Go to the store’s “Redeem Songs” page or the page specified on your coupon
   2. If you already have an account with this store, you'll be able to login and then redeem the coupon code and create an account
   3. If you are new to this store, you’ll be invited to enter the coupon code together with additional information to establish a store account. Adding a credit card in this section at this stage is optional and if done you can continue downloading tracks after your coupon value has been used (some coupons may require the use of a credit card to activate the account. This does not mean your card will be charged, but is for future purchases you may decide to make)
   4. Your account is now ready to use. Our Redemption Ticker is displayed in the store’s top bar to track your redemption process and show you how many songs you have available to redeem at any given moment.
