Can I burn my downloads to CD? (Back to Top)
Yes, the songs and albums you purchase and/or redeem in our store can be burned to CD – using players that support secure Windows Media. Consult your player application’s instructions about how to burn music to CD-R.

The following generalization applies to most applications:

*Note: Songs can be burned to CDs, but in many cases, the same Playlist may only be burned up to five (5) times.

Can I copy downloaded music to my portable device? (Back to Top)
Yes, you can copy your purchased and redeemed tracks to your portable device by creating a Playlist of the tracks you would like to send to your portable device. Consult your player application’s instructions for specifics about how to port your music to your portable device. Be sure you attached your device according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Can I play my downloads on more than one computer? (Back to Top)
Yes, our downloads can be played on more than one computer, normally between 3 and 5 different computers (this may vary per album). Once you have purchased or redeemed and downloaded our downloads, you can move them to additional computers using the following steps:

The first thing you must do is copy the tracks to the new machine. You can do this by burning the tracks to a CD as an encoded Windows Media file (a data file as opposed to a music file). Or, if you are in a network workgroup, you can copy the tracks to the additional computers via your local area network.

Once you have transferred the tracks to the additional computers, first login to the Web from the new computer, and login to your store account using your username and password in the fields provided.

Now that you are logged into your account, you are ready to play the files on this new computer. You must stay online when first playing them to obtain a license from our system on this computer. Once the songs play and the licenses have been obtained, you can use the songs on this computer just as you did on the first computer.

What happens if I lose my music? (Back to Top)
We are not responsible for any lost downloads due to computer corruption, misuse or malfunction, or loss of portable devices or CDs. We highly recommend that you maintain current backups of your digital library to ensure that you can recover it in the event that you lose your functional system.

Is downloading from your store the same as pirating? (Back to Top)
No. Purchasing and downloading music from our Music Store service is legal and safe. You will always get a safe, tested, high-quality service and product, a guarantee you cannot get from peer-to-peer services.

Why can’t I find the music I want? (Back to Top)
We're constantly adding new artists, albums and songs to our catalog which already offers hundreds of thousands of songs. We are aware that some popular artists are not yet in our system. We are working with record labels and artist management to offer you the broadest and best catalog of digital downloads possible. However, in a number of cases, we are limited by the desires of the artists or their management not to sell their music digitally online. In order to simplify the search and browse experience, we have chosen not to list these artists and their music inside our service. If you search for an artist and do not find any results, it's possible that you typed your search correctly but we don't have any downloads to offer you for that artist at this time. As mentioned, our catalog is growing constantly, and we hope that we will be able to offer you 100% of the music you want in the near future.

Are there territorial restrictions? (Back to Top)
Usually, yes. Our stores normally serve U.S. residents only, and do not allow out-of-state consumers to interact with the store.

If you reside outside the U.S. and were able to enter a restricted store, it is likely that we rejected your credit card given your overseas address. The source country monitoring system we use does not identify locations with 100% accuracy, and we apologize for your trouble.

Can I listen to Streams? (Back to Top)
Yes, in most cases our stores offer you the ability to listen to thirty second streams for free, so you can browse through the store, preview the streams, and then decide what you want to buy and download. Look for the “Preview” buttons or the little green triangle buttons which mark the clickable streams.
